The Great North of Scotland Railway was denied easy access to Cullen as The Earl of Seafield, being a director of the Highland Railway, refused to allow it to cross his land. Because of this the first quarter of a mile between Cullen and Portknockie has three viaducts and a bridge. This is the second viaduct going west.
