Brotton

Closed to passengers in 1960, Brotton once handled trains on the Yorkshire coast line betweeen Teesside and Whitby. The old station and its adjoining yard are now used as a tyre and exhaust centre with the station house a private residence. The line has been singled and relaid on a new alignment through the old station and nowadays sees considerable freight traffic in the form of potash from Boulby and steel from Skinningrove.
