An Edinburgh-bound DMU at the attractive North Berwick terminus in 1969. The line was already a 'basic railway' with one-train working over the single track from Drem, but services subsequently fell back to just a handful of trains a day after reprieve from closure (1971?), and sadly the station buildings were thereafter razed to the ground. A shame that the nowadays more enlightened attitude to redundant station buildings hadn't been around in those days - but at least the service is now utterly transformed, with electric trains now running hourly through the day.
