Achnasheen
Some finer points of the Kyle line's history doubtless being explained by Inspector Jack Rennie, who for many years was the familiar face welcoming summer visitors to the observation car. Other than the track, virtually nothing in this spring 1979 photo at Achnasheen can be seen in 2009 - no observation car, hotel burnt down, signal box and goods shed gone, even the platform is different!
