This is the rail bridge over the road at the north end of Boat of Garten during the demolition in June 1974. The embankment either side of the bridge has already been cut back prior to the removal of the arch. The road was being widened in conjunction with the new road bridge over the River Spey which was behind the camera. For several years there was a gap on the rail route from Boat of Garten to Broomhill. The original bridge was 3 tracks wide and was replaced by a single track rail bridge when the Strathspey Railway extended to Broomhill in the first years of the 21st Century.
