Coalville Town

The name Coalville makes it quite clear how this town was founded. But if you still don't get the picture, this crossing on Belvoir Road should put you straight. This Stephenson-built railway connected to the Leicester and Swannington Railway, and had 150 years of revenue earning service (1833-1983). Rails have been relaid to the right by the Snibston colliery museum, but the left side has been turned into a footpath to a supermarket.
