Edinburgh Waverley
Motorail vans at Waverley in April 1995. The cut-down 'platforms' used by Motorail services had no numbers but were formerly platforms 8 and 9 in the days when as many platforms were needed at the east end of the station as at the west. When platforms were renumbered in December 2006 the old 7 became 4 and 10 became 7, so provision has been made for these platforms to reopen as 5 and 6. At present there isn't a need for them and they are normally used to stable sleeper locomotives see image 13877.
