As can be seen from a passing train the large scrapyard at
Inverkeithing harbour is still in business but its rail connection is long gone and a footpath now crosses the severed rails, seen here on 30 January. View is north towards the former connection with the network on the Rosyth Dockyard branch, while behind the camera the track ran through a gate before fanning out within the scrapyard. See image 18929 for a view the other way in the days when the yard was rail-served.
