The Fort William portion of the Caledonian Sleeper approaching Cruach Rock Snowshed from Rannoch on the morning of 15 February 2010. This cutting lies about a mile north of Rannoch station. From the first winter following the opening of the line this section suffered from snow blockages. Snow fences were built down either side of the line (there is one on the left here and spoil from the cutting on the right) and a portion of the cutting was covered over with Britain's only snowshed. Stone from the cutting was used in the construction of Rannoch Viaduct.
