A track-lifting locomotive stands at Balquhidder station in December 1966. It was here in the early hours of 27th September 1965 that the 12.30 am Stirling-Oban train was halted after reports of a landslide to the north in Glen Ogle. Following an engineers' inspection the decision was eventually taken that the landslip was too serious to remove, just five weeks before the scheduled closure of the route.
