Peebles Tweed Viaduct

Low water on the Tweed at Peebles reveals the base of one of the piers of the former railway bridge that once carried the link-line from the Caledonian terminus on the south bank across the river to join the NB line on the north bank. The link-line and bridge were closed in 1959, nearly five years after abandonment of the Caledonian route west of Peebles and three years prior to closure of the NB station. View south across the Tweed in August 2006.
