101s were a large and ubiquitous class. Their last uses in Scotland were on 'lower profile' locals: Whifflet, Paisley Canal, Barrhead, and Motherwell to Cumbernauld. If the interiors were ever refurbished in their 40-year life it was clearly towards the beginning... This one was photographed at Barrhead in July 1997
