After twisting its way through the Border hills from Fountainhall, the Lauder Light Railway straightened out a little after passing Threeburnford and the long disused Airhouse quarry. The fenceline indicates the course of the line under Airhouse wood before it turned sharply into Oxton, after which it took a straighter course on to Lauder itself.
