Plenty of admirers, young and old, for the Jones Goods as it inches along the east to south curve at Forres station (for rounding purposes) and over Tytler Street level crossing in September 1965. The locomotive had just brought in one of the Highland Railway centenary special trains from Inverness. A month later this curve closed to all passenger traffic - to coincide with the Forres-Grantown-Aviemore service withdrawal. A section of the line survived for freight (to the Dallas Dhu distillery siding) until May 1967.
