View west from Larpool viaduct on 23 March 2010 showing the Whitby and Pickering Railway running alongside the Esk towards Grosmont. The pathway on the right is the trackbed of the former link to Prospect Hill Junction that climbed steeply from the W&P line before swinging north to join the Scarborough - Whitby - Middlesbrough coastal route near Whitby West Cliff station at the northern end of the viaduct. Batts Foundry had been located on the curve on the left between the two lines.
