The footbridge at Polmont has enough clearance for overhead wires and is of the same pattern, maker and date as those used on the North Clyde Lines electrification in 1960 see image 28404. Was electrification of the EGML cancelled after work had started, or is this just a spare bridge they had for one that need replacing in a hurry? Somewhere in between, I expect. Anyway 170 474 stands under it with a Dunblane to Edinburgh service on 15 June.
