GWR 5239 must be a real asset for the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway. Here the 42XX 2-8-0T is running round at Kingswear after hauling seven coaches over the steeply graded line but two days later I saw it lifting eleven coaches up the bank unassisted. The overall roof survives at the Kingswear terminus by the side of the River Dart and Dartmouth itself can be seen on the opposite bank of the estuary, a short ferry ride away.
