Stanier 8F 2-8-0 no 48641 brings a southbound freight past Hellifield shed in the 1960s. Following closure by BR in 1963 the shed was later used to store and renovate exhibits earmarked for the National Railway Museum in York, which opened in 1975. The old shed was subsequently demolished.
