Euxton Balshaw Lane
An unidentified Class 40 hustles a train of oil tanks along the Up Slow line through the site of Balshaw Lane & Euxton station, which had closed in 1969 and been cleared away for the 1972 electrification. By 1998 a new (and renamed) station had opened at this location. See image 29818 for a Then and Now comparison that illustrates the positive developments at this site.
