A Bulleid 4DD double-deck unit photographed near Eltham in 1970. This is DBMT 13002, of set 4001 (later 4901) built in 1949. The 2 sets (the other being 4002/4902) normally operated together as an 8-car train. The units were not popular with passengers but nonetheless remained in service on BR Southern Region for over 20 years.
