Thornton Shed [2nd]
Not quite the end of the line! McIntosh ex-Caledonian 0-4-4T no 55217 photographed while 'stored' at Thornton Junction in 1959. The locomotive subsequently experienced a new lease of life after being sent to Oban shed, presumably to work on the Ballachulish branch trains. 55217 was finally withdrawn from Oban in the summer of 1962 and cut up at Inverurie Works two months later.
