On a fine 1 September 156 467 pulls away from Troon with a lightly
loaded (as usual) Kilmarnock to Girvan service. The station building dates from 1892 and the architect was James Miller. Having supporting girders spanning the tracks was no doubt designed to keep the platforms clear of canopy columns, but it also had the unforeseen benefit of providing handy catenary supports 90-odd years later. And no, that isn't a Nestle's chocolate machine.
