Barrhill looking north towards Girvan. This station has the appearance of being on a double track mainline but the two tracks are just very lengthy passing loops, one of several on the long single line from Ayr to Stranraer. The buildings on the right house, amongst other things, the signalling and tablet instruments while the signalbox itself houses the lever frame for points and semaphores.
