Ashfield

All 4 compass points are used by Cowlairs junction names and 3 are plainly in the wrong order.  Here, Cowlairs North should by rights be Cowlairs West, but that's the one that points due south.  On the approach to Ashfield station 158720 passes the crossover which allows trains from Cowlairs East (to the north) to access the Down Maryhill and so West Highland Lines; the Fort William Sleeper is the only passenger service to use it.  Photographed on 27 November with my gloves on.
