The way it used to be. Offloading sacks of malt from rail vans at Tain good yard in 1974, ready for delivery by NCL lorry to Glenmorangie distillery. The photographer - who was working on the railway in his student holidays - will not forget the ensuing trip to the distillery to help the lorry driver offload the malt. Job completed, the two were ushered into the bowels of the distillery, an official unlocked a tall cupboard and then ceremoniously poured each of them an exceedingly large dram. This was the generous practice afforded to all delivery men in those distant days!
