Pointhouse Tram Depot

The Rothesay Tramways depot in Port Bannatyne used to house twenty electric tramcars, and is still in use as a bus depot. The trams ceased operating in 1936 but Rothesay buses were labelled Rothesay Tramways until the 1950s. This is a view of the depot looking north on the road from Rothesay to the Colintraive ferry and the trams ran along this road past the depot before accessing a dedicated route across the island to Ettrick Bay.
