Aberlady

East Lothain retains one branch (North Berwick) but none of the others got even as far as Beeching.  This OS One Inch map of 1957 shows two branches already closed to passengers: Aberlady Junction to Gullane (1932) and Longniddry Junction to Haddington (1947).  Haddington is just off the eastern edge of the map (wouldn't you know it).  There was also once a golfers' halt at Luffness, between Aberlady and Gullane and, going really far back, a station at Ballencrieff (1846-1847) - a wholly Gaelic name in this least Celtic corner of Scotland!
