Cumbernauld

170 477 pulls into Cumbernauld with a terminating service from Glasgow Queen Street on 5 February.  The building in the background looks a little out of place when seen in the flesh: all on it's own and the oldest building as far as the eye can see.  That's because it was part of the hamlet called Cumbernauld Station which was the only nearby settlement until the New Town filled in the considerable gap between the station and Cumbernauld village proper see image 32482.
