Piershill

Totem from Piershill which closed in 1964 along with others on or near the ECML in Edinburgh. At the time the station opened the name would have meant little other than the nearby barracks, but that was what the NBR chose to call this station situated between the better-known locations of Jock's Lodge and Restalrig. The area did become suburbanised, particularly between the wars, but the station was a bit tucked away and always appears rather forlorn and neglected in photographs.
