Ribbleton (Red Scar)
Scene at Ribbleton (Red Scar) on 2 August 1968 as 44874 arrives with the last steam working on the Longridge line, two days before BR steam finished. After this trip Class 25s and 40s handled the Courtaulds coal traffic until the plant closed. 44874 did have one more duty, hauling the SLS Farewell to Steam No.2 tour through Lancashire and Yorkshire with 45017 before being scrapped.
