Leyland

Brush Type 4 47555 The Commonwealth Spirit always seemed to be kept in good condition and is seen here passing through Leyland, with silver buffer embellishments, on a passenger train that is taking the Up Slow line. A BRCW three car Class 104 DMU has called at the Down Slow platform with a Manchester to Blackpool service. The Class 47 was in service for a further 19 years but withdrawn in 1999 and dismantled the same year at Springs Branch Component Recovery Centre in Wigan.
