Whithorn
Site of the former Whithorn station in May 2011. The picture is taken from the location of the old platform looking north away from the terminus. The line closed to passengers in 1950 but goods trains continued until 1964, latterly thrice weekly. The fire station and other buildings were constructed on the old railway land in the early 1990s. See image 6541 for the same location just prior to final closure.
