Britannia Pacific no 70013 Oliver Cromwell + Black 5 no 44781 at Manchester Victoria station on 4 August 1968. The pair double-headed the LCGB 'Farewell to Steam' rail tour [referred to as the 'Last Day of Steam Rail Tour' on the tickets] from Manchester as far as Blackburn. On reaching Blackburn 70013 was replaced by Stanier 8F no 48773 for the next leg to Carnforth, with the Britannia then running light engine to Lostock Hall where it later took over the RCTS ''End of Steam Commemorative Rail Tour'' being run on the same day see image 31774.
