The gateway to St Andrews is the dismantled railway bridge that carried the line over the A91 road at the western edge of the town, seen here in May 2011. Hard to imagine the 'Fife Coast Express' see image 26205 in days gone by, slowing as it crossed the bridge prior to pulling up at its ultimate destination. The former station (closed January 1969), St Andrews second, was located off to the right and is now a car park.
