Marsden
The sanders are obviously in operation as no 4498 Sir Nigel Gresley accelerates the eastbound 'Pennine Pullman' past Marsden down home signal on 9 October 1982. The train had originated at Carlisle, with the A4 taking over at Blackburn and running to Carnforth via Manchester Victoria, Huddersfield and Leeds.
