Hilton Road Level Crossing
In the year 2000, a walk in the woods east of Alloa would reveal remnants of an abandoned railway line hidden amongst the undergrowth, and perhaps give pause for reflection on the passing of the heavy coal trains that used it up until 1981. In a rare historical reversal, the coal trains have returned to this trackbed and we are now left to reflect on the passing of the wood and its wildlife!
