The tail end of a northbound Sunday track-lifting train at St Boswells in the Spring of 1971. The dismantling of the Waverley Route was a painfully protracted start-stop affair, beginning (witnessed by the press) with the part-symbolic lifting of a track panel at Riddings on Wednesday 8th January 1969 see image 23226 and concluding on an unknown date in Autumn 1972 at Lady Victoria Colliery.
