Raven Rock Summit
A Type 2 hauling eight vehicles battles its way up the 1 in 50 to Raven's Rock summit, between Achterneed and Garve, in the spring of 1971. The train is the 10.30am Inverness - Kyle of Lochalsh. The shot was used in a publicity brochure published by BR - surprisingly, as closure notices had already been posted - to promote the 1972 tourist season.
