The famous Dinorwic Quarry engines operated at various 'levels' in the huge slate quarry, with the different sections each having their own tiny engine sheds and servicing points. The levels were linked by this series of inclined planes. The lowest one has had track reinstated and some slate wagons are on static display mounted on the lift wagons as seen here. In the foreground are the tracks of the Llanberis Lake Railway, which follows part of the route of the old 4' gauge Padarn Railway.
