New footbridge section and lift tower at Wrexham General to allow step-free access from the ticket office and platforms 1 -3 to platform 4. View is from Mold Road overbridge (the present step-free route) on 12 October. Platform 3 runs through the centre of the picture and the Bidston line serving platform 4 is visible under the new footbridge. The goods line through platform 3, the former Wrexham & Shropshire platform, links to the Bidston line just north of the station to provide access to Dee Marsh for steel trains from South Wales.
