View south east in 1963, showing a Caley 0-6-0 with a train of gunpowder vans in the Ardeer ICI sidings by Stevenston No 1 signalbox. To the immediate right is the trackbed of the Misk branch which carried a workers passenger service to the single platform Ardeer station (served by both CR and G&SW). In particular this branch served the Nobel explosives works. On the horizon is the disused trackbed of the Lanarkshire and Ayrshire Railway. Today (2012) the ICI sidings seen here (which ran along the southern edge of the Ardrossan line) are lifted but the overgrown Misk branch remains in place.
