A Barrhead travel company has this year organised rail charters between Glasgow and Southampton in connection with cruises from the port. On 14 July 2012 a return service is seen across the overgrown southern end of platforms 2 & 3 at Leyland with DBS 67005 Queen's Messenger heading a converted Mk 1 vehicle for luggage and a mixture of Mk 2s featuring Anglia and Virgin colour schemes.
