University of York
Stanier 8F 2-8-0 48551 was withdrawn and cut up in 1968, but parts of it still survive today on the York University campus. The parts were purchased from Thos. W. Ward of Sheffield and welded to form the sculpture by the University Department of Physics in 1968.
