Dumfries

The 09.30 Glasgow Central - London St Pancras 'Thames - Clyde Express' rolls into Dumfries in May 1971, behind the usual 'Peak' locomotive working back to Leeds. Note the time on the station clock. Despite the 'Express' tag, the train had a scheduled end to end journey time of 8 hours 50 minutes in the 1960s and early 1970s.
