Kings Cross

Brush Type 2 no 5596 leaving the Cross with suburban ecs in June 1969. On the right is the 'Hotel Curve' platform aka 'Kings Cross Suburban' (latterly no 14) used by down trains arriving from Moorgate on the steep climb from the Metropolitan widened lines. Up trains on the Moorgate route used the York Road platform on the other side of the station. Both platforms were in use between 1866 and 1976 see image 37734.
