Looking back from the carriage window of a Euston bound train approaching Northampton in the summer of 1968 (the train having been diverted from its normal WCML route.) The elevated line on the down side beyond the car train is an oil siding, which climbed north towards Mill Lane road bridge in the background. The area has been extensively remodelled since the photograph was taken. [With thanks to all those who responded to this query]
