Newmarket
An easterly view under the extensive down platform canopy at Newmarket station on 27th March 1978. Built to shelter the large crowds that used to arrive at the station on race days, it had become redundant by the time this photo was taken and demolition was not far off. The 'bus shelters' seen on the opposite platform were already proving quite adequate for the remaining custom.
