Fixed installations such as this one go a long way towards explaining why BR was lumbered with conveying short wheelbase mineral wagons well into the fourth quarter of the 20th century. An unbraked 16 tonner is unloaded into the hold of a ship at Goole Docks on the evening of 16th May 1974.
