Gallowgate
Looking north at the top of Molendinar Street in 2007, with Gallowgate behind the camera. The bridge carries the CGU line between Saltmarket Junction and High Street East Junction. Round the corner under the bridge is the former entrance to Gallowgate station (closed as long ago as 1902). In the right background on the north side of Bell Street is part of the urban viaduct that once carried the lines into College goods depot, the huge warehouse of which still stands as flats see image 14886.
