Redcar Central
Northern meets Arriva at Redcar Central on 5 June. The Northern 12.53 Darlington - Saltburn train and the Arriva 12.32 Middlesbrough - Redcar bus say hello at West Dyke Road level crossing alongside Redcar Central station. Note the unusual powered crossing gate, with its rubber-tyred wheel and electric motor. [Addendum: The crossing gates were replaced in 2015 with retractable sliding barriers, the first to be seen in the UK]
